About The Islamorada Foundation

Mid-Summer 2010, while sitting around an Islamorada front porch table, The Islamorada Foundation was created.

A group of Islamorada friends and residents wanted to make a difference in the community they loved. They saw a missing and overlooked piece to the Islamorada lifestyle – land and Green Space preservation in what is, arguable, some of the most scarce and sensitive strip of life and land in the United States. They felt fortunate to live in Islamorada and wanted to better that lifestyle.

Upon receiving our 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS, and depositing our initial $200 donation from longtime friends we have not looked back on our fun, impactful and important mission.
