Our volunteer duties at Southwinds Park are numerous. As we continue to manage this 1.1 acre parcel at MM 82.2 in Islamorada, we are always seeking volunteer assistance. As activities continue to grow at Southwinds Park, some of our volunteer needs include the following:
“60 Night of Lights” – An annual holiday display of white lights – seeking volunteers to assist in tediously wrapping and unwrapping mature trees with white string lights. (install mid November and removal in early February). This annual light festival is a fundraiser, each tree is sponsored by Islamorada residents, businesses and longtime visitors. 60 Nights of Lights is our sole funding source of financial sustainability for Southwinds Park.
General Park maintenance – As stewards of this great, little, downtown parcel, we have day to day duties that include mowing, mulching, raking and weeding. If you have the time, and are interested in assisting The Islamorada Foundation in keeping this park in tip top shape, please email your interests.
