Land / Open Space Initiative

The Islamorada Foundation is excited to announce a new initiative.

Over the past 8 years, through the generosity of many of you and other private donors, we have successfully transformed Southwinds Park into a great asset for the community. Now, we feel the time is right to begin looking forward by expanding our efforts toward our mission of “Preserving and Enhancing Islamorada’s Parks and Green Space.”

As the atmosphere in our island chain community continues to change, one thing is becoming more and more apparent, growth and expansion is continuing to dominate.  Regardless of the many personal feelings of this continued growth, before we realize it, there may no longer be a parcel of Green Space/Open Space or a passive parcel of land available and the majority of Islamorada will become buildings, businesses and parking lots. We invite you to participate with us and do what we can before we look back and realize what has occurred.

We are announcing a Open Space land initiative. This initial campaign is being kicked off with the efforts to raise capital in order for The Islamorada Foundation to begin our efforts in Open Space preservation for years to come. Please consider your support as an investment in what we all have come to love about Islamorada – lack of density, random green parcels, knowing your neighbors and strong community support.

As this phase of our land initiative kicks off, financial progress reports will be available, matching gift challenges most likely will be offered, grants will be sought and partnerships will be forged. Your support of this campaign will literally be helping shape the future of Islamorada. This ongoing initiative will become an integral part of the future of The Islamorada Foundation.

1.4 acres acquired 10/1/2018 – 81031 Overseas Highway

Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions, thank you all for your consideration and past support.
