
Megan Reese Edwards 1966-2021
Many that have come to admire the Megan Edwards Center at Gib Reese Park often ask, “who is Megan Edwards?
Megan was a mother to four, a wife, a friend, a competitor, a fighter, an inspiration and a beautiful soul of a person. With many passions in her life, first and foremost was her family. She cared deeply about her children, their educations and their happiness as productive adults. The Edwards Family, settled in and made Islamorada a second home – away from their Midwest life in Mission Hills, KS.
She had an unending passion for art and design. She loved beauty in all forms. She was the most talented designer with impeccable judgment, taste, and creativity with an ability to execute on a wide variety of projects – leaving an identifiable mark on every project she touched.
Megan passed peacefully after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer in April 2021. We are proud to honor her legacy here at the Megan Edwards Center.
